Make The Media Fall In Love With You
When you’re pitching the media, it’s crucial to include a short bio at the end of your email so that the person you’re pitching can quickly and easily get a sense
of who you are and what you do. While media bios can vary in length, it’s best to convey your expert status in a short paragraph or two. You can have a longer media bio on the About page of your website.
Here are several powerful examples of media bios that could be included in an email pitch. I hope they will inspire you as you write your own.

A guest post is an article that you write as a guest expert for someone else’s online publication, including blogs, newsletters, and online magazines. Think sites like Huffington Post, mindbodygreen, Forbes, Entrepreneur, Fast Company, Positively Positive, Elephant Journal, Tiny Buddha, and literally thousands of others.
Podcasts
One of the most effective ways to land interviews on high-profile podcasts is to create a ladder of opportunity. In other words, start with what you may consider to be smaller podcasts and work your way up to bigger opportunities. After all, very few people are going to record their first ever podcast interview for Pat Flynn’s Smart Passive Income Podcast or Amy Porterfield’s Online Marketing Made Easy Podcast. Before you book these bigger opportunities, it’s best to get your feet wet with smaller podcasts.

Magazines
Remember, it’s important to distinguish a topic from an idea. You may have a topic you want to write about or be a source for — i.e., women and leadership or healthy eating — but that is distinct from having a story idea. Topics are too broad and don’t interest editors. Story ideas are specific — they solve a particular problem, shed light on an important issue, or highlight a person doing something interesting.

When it comes to pitching TV, the first thing you need to think about is: What audience do you want to reach? Would you like to reach mothers with young children?Business people? Entrepreneurs? Teenagers? Foodies? Health nuts? Determining the audience you want to reach will help you decide which TV shows to pitch.
