MYTH #1: Your Health Coach Certification Is Your Instant Ticket To Success

Many of the women I’ve worked with believed that all they needed to do to become a successful health coach was to get certified, hang up their shingle, and everything else would fall into place. The truth is that there’s a lot more to starting a business than becoming a certified health coach.

That is only the beginning.

Instead, you should lay a solid foundation with all of the business necessities, such as a profitable niche, a strategic plan, and an irresistible signature program that your ideal clients adore.

MYTH #2: Believing You Can Help Everyone

When you begin your own wellness journey, you will discover this incredible world. It’s as if you’ve been given a secret key to the universe: there are so many incredible things you can do to take control of your health and wellbeing, prevent disease, and improve your longevity…and you want to shout it from the rooftops.

And perhaps, in an ideal world, you could assist everyone in improving their health. But, as you build your business, it’s critical that you identify a very specific type of person with whom you want to work: your ideal client.

Of course, what I’m referring to here is picking a very specific, narrow niche.

When you speak to everyone, you are actually speaking to no one. Your message will not resonate, and you will have a difficult time finding your tribe and ideal clients.

Myth #3: Believing That The Best Way To Get Started Is To “Hustle” On Social Media

Getting on social media and hustling without a solid business foundation and a solid PLAN is the best way to waste your time. It’s a great way to stay BUSY and productive, but without a plan, you’ll end up spinning your wheels. Without any results.

And how will you know what to post unless you’ve defined the fundamentals, such as your niche and ideal client, your packages, and your brand?

Build your business foundation first, then master the fundamentals, and your social media use will be strategic, smart, and fruitful.

Myth #4: Believing A Signature Program Isn’t A Good Idea

Many health coaches graduate from their training believing they should not develop a specific program or signature system. You only need to coach people “where they are.”

While this is partially correct in that coaching must be organic and guided by your clients’ needs, developing a signature program is the key to building a successful health coaching BUSINESS. Selling “coaching” to people is a difficult task. And one who will not pay your credit card bills.

A signature program is necessary for everything because it provides you with confidence, authority, and something unique to the market.

Myth #5: Believing You Can Just Roll Up Your Sleeves And Do It All Yourself

Attempting to accomplish this on your own will take a long time.

There are tried and true methods that will help you achieve your goals more quickly. Learning from an expert and sticking to a plan are the best ways to ensure your success.
